Delivery Driver – Class B CDL | Local
About The Position
Oakhurst Dairy is hiring a Class B CDL driver for local delivery routes based out of Waterville, Maine. Drivers depart from and return to the Waterville location each day, with no overnight routes. The position offers a four-day workweek with weekends off and early-morning starts generally between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., depending on the route and driver preferences. Local management coordinates schedules, routes, and process improvements. Starting compensation is $1,450 per week, based on skills and experience. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is paid after successful completion of six months of employment, and drivers may earn an annual safety bonus of up to $1,000. The role includes paid time off, benefits, company-owned equipment, and local support. The fleet has liftgates and automatic transmissions, and the company has a fleet maintenance facility and staff in Portland.
Requirements
- Valid Class B CDL.
- Existing DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.
- Operational knowledge of Hours-of-Service rules and regulations.
- Ability to perform safe pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT standards.
- Good communication skills and ability to interact positively with customers.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely climb in and out of the vehicle cargo box.
- Ability to operate handheld or mobile computers used to process sales and delivery documents.
- Ability to reliably commute to the Waterville, Maine work location.
Nice To Haves
- Delivery experience is a plus.
- One year of driving experience is preferred.
