About The Position

Southeastern Trench Safety is hiring a CDL Delivery Driver to transport equipment between locations using tractor-trailers and truck-mounted knuckle-boom cranes. The role involves local and regional hauling, timely deliveries, safe vehicle and equipment operation, and compliance with traffic, safety, Department of Transportation, and company record-keeping requirements. Drivers provide customer service at delivery sites and assist in the warehouse and yard when not driving. Daily local travel to job sites is required, and the work may include remote job-site travel.

Requirements

• Valid Class A driver's license and current medical certification.
• Clean driving record with no moving violations.
• Must pass a background check and drug test before beginning employment.
• Skilled in operating large vehicles safely and comfortable maneuvering and parking a tractor-trailer.
• Alert, focused, detail-oriented, and physically and mentally fit.
• Must be able to safely operate commercial vehicles and remain alert in hazardous conditions.
• Must be comfortable working around large equipment, in confined spaces, and at elevated positions.
• Physical ability to frequently lift, carry, and maneuver tools, chains, tarps, and equipment weighing 50+ pounds; bend, squat, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, climb in and out of trucks and trailers, and maintain balance at heights.
• Fine motor skills and dexterity for tie-downs, controls, and documentation.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Two or more years of proven tractor-trailer driving experience preferred.
• Military service may be considered in lieu of education or certification experience, as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and secure equipment for transport.
• Haul equipment locally and regionally.
• Perform daily commercial vehicle inspections to ensure operational safety.
• Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries.
• Obtain required signatures on rental contracts, pickup forms, and exchange forms.
• Demonstrate safe and proper equipment usage at the point of delivery.
• Complete reports for outgoing and returned equipment.
• Complete logbooks and trip sheets in accordance with D.O.T. and company record-keeping requirements.
• Assist in the warehouse and yard when not driving.
• Follow safety protocols and use required personal protective equipment.
