About The Position

Sunstate Equipment Co. is hiring a CDL-A Driver for its Trench Safety Division in the Concord/Charlotte, North Carolina area. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with starts as early as 6 a.m. Drivers participate in an on-call rotation as needed, typically one to two weeks per month. Pay is $27.25–$36.80 per hour based on experience, paid weekly.

Approximately 80% of the work involves transporting trench and MAP shoring to and from customer job sites using knuckle-boom flatbed, semi, and trailer trucks. The remaining work includes equipment assembly, testing and inspection, power washing, inventory control, and other yard duties. The driver is expected to maintain courteous, professional, and helpful customer relationships and work collaboratively with the team. The role requires physical exertion, including walking, standing, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 90 pounds. Drivers are considered an extension of sales, and the work supports safety by helping provide equipment that saves lives.

Requirements

• Class A CDL license.
• DOT Medical Card; Sunstate will pay for renewal if needed.
• Flatbed experience.
• Loading and unloading experience.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend, and lift up to 90 pounds.
• Ability to maintain courteous, professional, and helpful interactions with customers.
• Willingness to work as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Previous equipment rental experience.
• NCCCO certification; not required.
• TWIC card; not required.

Responsibilities
