About The Position

This position will deliver to all types of customers, including Foodservice. The driver is responsible for driving the delivery vehicle and delivering product to the store. Key responsibilities include the ongoing rotating and stocking of product on store shelves, displays, in coolers, and vending equipment. The role also involves building small displays and setting up promotional materials such as pricing signs and banners. The driver generates invoices and is responsible for the daily settlement of cash and charges. Frequent interaction with store management and receiving personnel is required for load acceptance. This position involves significant physical activity, including lifting and loading cases ranging from 20-45 pounds repeatedly, and pushing/pulling with forces from 40-150 pounds occasionally. Reaching, squatting, and bending are necessary while delivering and merchandising products. Product is unloaded from the delivery vehicle using an electronic pallet jack or 2-wheel hand truck and moved to a designated area in the store's backroom.

Requirements

  • 21 years or older
  • Pass the DOT drug test and DOT Physical
  • Valid U.S. CDL with Non-Excepted Interstate Status (if applicable)
  • Note: In all California locations except Stockton, both non-excepted intrastate and non-excepted interstate status are accepted for this position. In Stockton, CA, only non-excepted interstate status is accepted.

Nice To Haves

  • Operating trucks requiring a Valid U.S. CDL license (for example, performing basic functions like driving forwards, driving backwards, or maneuvering in tight spaces)
  • Adhering to all DOT regulations (for example, reading and comprehending documentation or maintaining current documentation such as medical cards)
  • Merchandising products (for example, filling shelves, building displays, making products look attractive on shelves, rotating product, cleaning shelves, or eliminating out of stocks and out of date products)
  • Using equipment to aid in hauling loads (for example, operating pallet jacks, using dock plates, or using load bars and straps)
  • Operating equipment (pallet jacks, lift gates on trailers, hand trucks, breakdowns, etc.)
  • Documenting DOT regulations (for example, reading and comprehending documentation or maintaining current documentation such as medical cards)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Responsibilities

  • Deliver product and execute all promotions
  • Service all scheduled customers by the end of shift
  • Merchandise all accounts to local standards
  • Establish positive working relationships with primary contact at each account

Benefits

  • $31.12 / hour
  • $1500 Sign-on Bonus --paid out as $500 after 90 days, after 6 months and after 12 months of full employment
