Position Summary: The Delivery Director is accountable for the successful execution of one or more enterprise project portfolios, with direct, hands-on ownership of the organization’s most critical and strategic programs. This role serves as the primary escalation point for initiatives that drive key business outcomes, fulfill regulatory commitments, or ensure operational continuity. The Delivery Director leads and develops a team of Project Managers while proactively engaging in complex initiatives, including the launch of new business capabilities. The ideal candidate brings prior experience in auto finance or other regulated financial services environments, demonstrates a strong results-driven mindset, builds scalable and sustainable delivery solutions, and thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous settings.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in project, program, or portfolio delivery leadership, with increasing scope and accountability.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience serving as a functional people manager.
  • Proven success serving as a hands-on escalation leader for complex, high-risk, or mission-critical initiatives.
  • Prior experience in auto finance, captive finance, or other regulated financial services environments strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent programs involving significant budgets, complex dependencies, and high levels of executive visibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred.
  • Multiple Agile certifications preferred (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster [CSM], PMI Agile Certified Practitioner [PMI-ACP], SAFe Agilist), with demonstrated, pragmatic application in enterprise delivery environments.
  • Demonstrates a strong results-oriented mindset, with a high degree of ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Thrives in ambiguous, high-pressure environments, effectively navigating complexity while maintaining delivery momentum.
  • Exhibits executive-level communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and articulate complex concepts clearly.
  • Applies strong financial acumen to manage and optimize large program and portfolio budgets.
  • Designs and implements scalable, repeatable delivery solutions that drive consistency, efficiency, and sustainable outcomes across the enterprise.
  • Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to Dallas, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the hands-on escalation owner for the most critical, complex, or at-risk programs across assigned portfolios, ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Oversee the timely delivery of complex initiatives, including loan product launches, system integrations, and vendor-delivered solutions.
  • Forecast capacity, resources, and budgetary needs to balance competing priorities while maintaining strong financial and delivery controls.
  • Identify and mitigate portfolio-level risks to ensure operational continuity within a regulated auto finance environment.
  • Scale PMO processes, governance, and delivery standards to support increasing project and program demand.
  • Align portfolios with enterprise architecture standards, approved technology platforms, and strategic business objectives.
  • Define, monitor, and communicate portfolio KPIs; present delivery status, risks, and insights to executive leadership and Board-level forums.
  • Lead, coach, and manage a team of Project Managers; foster cross-functional collaboration, oversee vendor performance and compliance, guide change management efforts.
  • Assume additional duties as business needs evolve.
