About The Position

Join our Festival Foods Team as a Deli Service Counter Manager! We are seeking a Deli Service Counter Manager to join our deli team in our retail grocery store environment, where you'll play a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of the deli service counter, working closely with your team to keep the counter stocked and fresh while providing exceptional guest service.

Requirements

  • High School Education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 3+ years of leadership experience (preferably in retail or restaurant settings).
  • Strong ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A complete understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies, along with knowledge of proper procedures for equipment and safety hazards.
  • Solid knowledge of the retail food business, perishable department operations, and merchandising, as well as the ability to make effective and timely decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Providing excellent guest service, including greetings, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
  • Leading, supporting, and reinforcing company culture, guest service, and performance expectations across the deli team.
  • Partnering with the Human Resources Manager to maintain appropriate staff levels by interviewing and extending job offers.
  • Providing thorough and consistent training for new Deli associates and offering ongoing support.
  • Setting a strong example for the team and ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Assisting guests with locating items and addressing service or product-related issues.
  • Managing the presentation of the service case, ensuring products are visually appealing and rotated to meet quality standards.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory and temperature logs.
  • Ensuring all quality standards are met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 AM and 5 PM.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitized work environment.
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
  • Other duties as assigned.
