About The Position

The Deli Manager is responsible for leading all deli department operations, ensuring food quality, safety, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. This role oversees production, merchandising, inventory control, team leadership, and compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, train, and develop deli associates to meet performance and service expectations
  • Create effective schedules that align with business needs and labor standards
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and corrective action as needed
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and customer‑focused service
  • Oversee daily deli operations, including food preparation, cooking, slicing, packaging, and merchandising
  • Ensure product quality, freshness, portion control, and presentation standards are consistently met
  • Manage production planning, forecasting, ordering, and inventory levels
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and proper maintenance of deli equipment
  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
  • Maintain accurate temperature logs, sanitation schedules, labeling, and documentation
  • Ensure proper food handling, storage, rotation, and preparation procedures
  • Prepare for and address internal and external audits
  • Drive sales through effective merchandising, promotions, and seasonal execution
  • Manage shrink, spoilage, waste, and markdowns in alignment with company expectations
  • Analyze sales trends and production data to optimize labor and product mix
  • Control department expenses and support overall store financial objectives
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve escalated customer concerns
  • Ensure product availability, freshness, and visual appeal meet customer expectations
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and customer‑ready department at all times
