About The Position

Lowes Foods is hiring a Deli Manager for its Charlotte Metro bench program. The role supervises the deli department and ensures that guest service, merchandising programs, and departmental operations are maintained. After training, Bench Department Managers are expected to fill a Department Manager role within 30 miles of their home. If no position is open, they remain in the bench role until one becomes available. This position supports store locations in the Concord, Kannapolis, Mooresville, and Harrisburg areas.

Requirements

• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Knowledge of deli operations.
• Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the Store Manager and Merchandiser.
• Ability to work well with computers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from deli department staff.
• Achieve budgeted sales, shrink, and profits for the deli department.
• Maintain desired levels of inventory and supplies.
• Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
• Ensure products for sale meet Lowes Foods quality standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Provide guidance, orientation, training, and feedback so deli department hosts meet satisfactory performance standards.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, and guest service as needed to achieve standards.
• Maintain the department's labor budget and scheduling standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Make PA announcements.
