About The Position

The Assistant Deli Manager assists with implementing Division Deli Merchandising programs. When the Deli Manager is absent, this role is responsible for department pricing, displays, ordering, and inventory control. The position supports the department’s presentation, cleanliness, and profitability while providing superior customer service. It also serves as a positive role model and helps train other Deli employees.

Requirements

At least one to two years of experience in the food industry.
High school diploma/GED, relevant work history, or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
Highly motivated and team oriented.
Strong customer service qualities.
Strong leadership ability.

Nice To Haves

Training experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Meet the department’s superior service goals.
When the Deli Manager is absent, supervise department staff, including scheduling, training, and assigning duties.
Lead the department as a positive role model.
Implement all merchandising programs.
Ensure department presentation and operating standards are met, including cleanliness and sanitation, inventory control, rotation, quality, ordering, variety standards, signing, and seasonal schematics.
Order products and control inventory to meet division turn goals.
Ensure the department offers customers the highest-quality products available.
Monitor compliance with variety standards and ensure 100% compliance on ad item displays.
When the Deli Manager is absent, ensure division-required paperwork is completed.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Be responsible for department sales and profitability.
