About The Position

As a Deli General Duty Clerk, you prepare fresh food and provide welcoming, efficient service to customers choosing deli meats, cheeses, hot foods, and prepared items. You slice meats, prepare grab-and-go options, take orders, and help keep the department stocked, clean, and ready throughout the day. You also prepare hot and cold items, maintain organized displays, and monitor product freshness and temperature. The role involves working with food-preparation equipment and handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to operate slicers and food-preparation equipment after training and in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Basic math skills for weighing, portioning, and transactions.
• Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Comfort standing for extended periods, lifting products up to 35 pounds, and working in varying temperatures.
• Clear communication, attention to detail, organization, time management, adaptability, and customer-service skills.

Nice To Haves

• Prior food-service or customer-service experience is preferred.
• Experience preparing deli products, including slicing, assembling, and portioning.
• Knowledge of deli meats, cheeses, prepared foods, and hot-case items.
• Cash-handling experience with register systems.

Responsibilities

• Help customers select deli meats, cheeses, hot foods, and prepared items, and take orders in person or by phone.
• Slice, assemble, portion, and prepare deli products, including hot and cold foods and grab-and-go items.
• Keep display cases stocked, clean, organized, and visually consistent.
• Monitor product freshness and temperature.
• Process transactions and provide accurate change using register systems, where applicable.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and company procedures.
