About The Position
As a part-time Deli Clerk at Brookhaven Market’s Mokena, Illinois store, you’ll help keep the deli case well-stocked and appealing while providing customers with quick, accurate, and friendly service. The role involves preparing and packaging deli products, maintaining a clean and food-safe work area, and coordinating with teammates throughout the shift. The work moves between customer service, case upkeep, preparation, and restocking, including during busy periods. Pay is $16–$19 per hour.
Requirements
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Comfort working at a fast pace with solid attention to detail.
- Ability to stand and walk during shifts and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Deli or food service experience is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Slice, weigh, package, and label meats and cheeses to order.
- Prepare simple deli items and restock products to keep the case full.
- Keep work areas clean and follow food-safety and sanitation steps.
- Assist customers with questions and provide friendly, accurate service.
- Coordinate smoothly with teammates and hand off a tidy, stocked workspace to the next shift.
- Review the prep list and reset the station at the start of the shift.
