About The Position

This position is responsible for various tasks within the deli department, including stocking, pricing, packaging, and maintaining cleanliness. The role requires operating equipment safely, producing deli/bakery products, and handling customer service. It involves physical activity such as standing for extended periods, walking, and lifting items up to 50 pounds. Secondary functions may include cake decorating, receiving deliveries, and ordering products.

Requirements

• Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in temperature extremes, (frozen foods & storage cooler maximum low temperature, -10 degrees).
• Follows dress code.

Responsibilities

• Rotates, stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies.
• Correctly prices all merchandise according to departmental guidelines.
• Follows proper wrapping and packaging procedure; including the use of the correct size tray and plastic wrap &/or container.
• Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment, (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.).
• Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner except when restricted due to age; follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Cleans all required deli-bakery department tools and equipment.
• Follows proper procedure for producing all bakery/deli products.
• Maintains a neat and clean work area.
• Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines.
• Orders product according to established guidelines in the absence of deli manager.
• Other duties as assigned.
