About The Position

As a Deli Clerk, you prepare fresh food and provide a welcoming, friendly, and efficient customer experience. You help customers select deli meats, cheeses, hot foods, and prepared items; take orders in person or by phone; slice meats; and assemble grab-and-go options.

You also prepare hot and cold items, keep the department stocked and displays organized, and monitor product freshness and temperature. The role involves restocking, serving customers, and using food-preparation equipment in a fast-paced environment. Employees must follow food-safety, sanitation, company, division, and store procedures. Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to operate slicers and food-preparation equipment following training and safety guidelines.
• Basic math skills for weighing, portioning, and transactions.
• Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Comfort standing for extended periods, lifting products up to 35 pounds, and working in varying temperatures.
• Clear communication skills for taking orders in person or by phone.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining workflow and service speed.

Nice To Haves

• Prior food service or customer service experience.
• Experience preparing deli products, including slicing, assembling, and portioning.
• Understanding of deli meats, cheeses, prepared foods, and hot-case items.
• Cash-handling experience, including using register systems and making accurate change.

Responsibilities
