About The Position

This position involves a variety of tasks within the deli and bakery departments, including stocking, pricing, packaging, cleaning, and product preparation. The role requires adherence to safety policies, efficient operation of equipment, and the ability to work in various temperature conditions. Secondary functions may include cake decorating, truck unloading, and product ordering.

Requirements

Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions.
Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds.
Ability to work in temperature extremes, (frozen foods & storage cooler maximum low temperature, -10 degrees).
Follows dress code.

Follows established safety policies and procedures.
Works well with others.
Subject to pre-employment background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Rotates, stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies.
Correctly prices all merchandise according to departmental guidelines.
Follows proper wrapping and packaging procedure; including the use of the correct size tray and plastic wrap &/or container.
Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment, (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.).
Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner except when restricted due to age; follows all safety policies and procedures.
Cleans all required deli-bakery department tools and equipment.
Follows proper procedure for producing all bakery/deli products.
Maintains a neat and clean work area.
Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines.
Orders product according to established guidelines in the absence of deli manager.
Other duties as assigned.
