About The Position

The Deli Attendant / Barista provides friendly, efficient customer service while preparing and serving drinks, baked goods, and other food items. The role involves helping customers learn about products and services, following company recipes and procedures, processing transactions, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the deli area. The position pays $17.24 per hour plus tips and offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus, paid in two installments subject to good-standing requirements.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Flexibility to work any schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of experience as a server.
• Prior money-handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Educate customers about products and services and answer questions about coffee blends, preparation, and product freshness.
• Maintain consistent product quality and follow company drink recipes and procedures.
• Prepare blended and cold drinks offered by the store.
• Greet customers with fast, friendly, personalized service and build rapport by learning their names and preferences.
• Receive and repeat customer orders in a friendly manner.
• Report customer complaints to the F&B Director, Supervisor, or Manager on Duty, and respond proactively to prevent customer service issues.
• Accurately enter sales into the cash register and courteously count back change.
• Answer telephone calls courteously, provide the store greeting and directions, and receive and fill customer orders.
• Sell and serve baked goods and miscellaneous food items.
• Maintain efficient, friendly service and restock shelves as needed.
• Routinely clean the deli area, floor, and equipment, and take out trash.
• Report potential safety hazards and employee accidents to the manager on duty.
