About The Position

The Deli Associate role specifically involves delivering prompt, friendly service, preparing and handling food with care and accuracy, keeping the deli area clean and well-stocked, and using product knowledge to assist customers with their selections and special orders.

Requirements

Must be 18 years old
Consistently move, adjust, and position items weighing up to 25 pounds
Safely Operate deli slicers and other equipment necessary to operate the department
Ability to remain in a stationary position for duration of shift
Effectively communicate with others and work in a productive/fast pace environment
Occasionally ascend/descend a stepstool, stepladder, and/or ladder
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers for duration of shift
Communicate with others to exchange information
Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in tight and confined spaces
Use the compactor and cardboard crusher for disposing of garage and cardboard
Willingness to learn the different products offered within the department to help serve the customers
Friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all customers within the deli department
Ability to demonstrate and set the example for Adams’ culture and values
Willingness to work collaboratively and communicate with a team of co-workers and managers
Exhibit enthusiasm, positivity and/or knowledge about Adams’ products and quality

Responsibilities

Provide friendly, knowledgeable service and assist customers with deli orders and product selections
Safely slice meats & cheeses to customer specifications.
Handle text & special orders promptly for all customers
Stock and rotate deli products, ensuring freshness, proper labeling, and attractive displays
Maintain full knowledge of deli offerings, including pricing and sale items
Monitor product quality, checking packaging, dates, and overall presentation
Prepare salads, sandwiches, and fresh slice items as assigned
Clean slicers, tools, and work areas, and help keep the deli department organized and sanitary
