About The Position

The Delivery Helper's primary functions include loading, locating job sites, backing, preparing and restoring job sites, preparing the truck for the next day, and maintaining the truck and equipment. The role also involves ensuring compliance with company, state, and federal guidelines, particularly OSHA and DOT, for personnel safety. Responsibilities extend to performing pre-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork, and loaded product to ensure order accuracy, safely unloading and delivering products to assigned areas as directed by the customer, and securing various materials on the truck. The helper must also navigate routes to job sites. Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and communicate information accurately.
  • Stamina to lift at least 75 lbs. in order to carry materials, such as drywall materials and joint compound.

  • Constantly moving from unloading materials from commercial motor vehicles onto job site.
  • Constantly positions self to unload and load materials from flatbed or boom.

  • Must be able to communicate with management and coworkers and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Constantly working in an outside environment while making deliveries.
  • Must be able to prioritize job sites and deadlines.
  • Must be able to manage stress depending on customer’s deadline.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the truck for the following day and maintain the truck and equipment.
  • Comply with company, state and federal guidelines particularly as it relates to OSHA and DOT for the safety of all personnel.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork and loaded product to ensure accuracy of order.
  • Safely unload product and deliver to assigned area as directed by the customer.
  • Secure mud, equipment, metal, and pallet on truck.
  • Navigate routes to the job site.
