About The Position

Responsible for maintaining and updating records associated with the degree completion process, including transcription of transfer credits for new students all the way to the issuing of diplomas. Must apply the policies and procedures within the University related to transfer credits, course completion, academic honors, probation and dismissal, and degree requirements. Provides a significant role to the department and student services University-wide.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience including previous registrarial and student service experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to think critically and provide options for sound solutions.
  • Ability to manage complex tasks and individuals.
  • Strong knowledge of computers and appropriate software.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and apply degree requirements and associated compliance requirements and University policy.
  • Configure curriculum/program requirements into the University enterprise software system assuring accuracy, detail and required timelines.
  • Coordinate procedural matters regarding the day-to-day operations of degree audit encoding and monitor resources to guarantee on-time delivery.
  • Provide prompt, reliable, and friendly service and information to students and advisors related to applying for graduation, the evaluation and certification process, and best practices of using the degree audit system.
  • Evaluate degree audits and other student records and communicate accurate information about a student’s status related to degree attainment, including the evaluation of progress towards degree completion, academic honors, probation and dismissal, and the certification of degrees earned, and the distribution of diplomas.
  • Maintain procedures for departmental operations that will assure an efficient and courteous service to students and a general direction for processes and systems at the campus.
  • Conduct transcript evaluation, records documentation and archiving, graduation auditing, submission of conferral lists, and academic web auditing.
  • Work in cooperation with the student service center, as well as academic departments, assuring that all departments work effectively as a team to best service student needs.
  • Provide functional support and troubleshooting via email, phone, and in person inquiries from Registrar’s Office staff and campus partners.
  • Assist with training the campus community on using products including updating and distributing training materials, as needed.
  • Participate in meetings to ensure communication about changes in university academic policies.
  • Model and encourage collaboration among University departments assuring effective communication and operations.
  • Understand the University’s policies and, procedures, and exercise good judgment accordingly.
  • Assure that University and student information is managed in a confidential and ethical manner in accordance with the University’s Code of Conduct and Ethics.
  • Provide leadership through conduct, attitude, and professionalism.
  • Represent the University to students, external groups, faculty, and staff in a way that reflects positively on the University.
