About The Position

A. Duie Pyle, a family-owned business since 1924, offers integrated transportation and distribution solutions throughout the Northeast. With a network of LTL service centers, warehouse facilities, and dedicated locations, they provide flexible and seamless integrated solutions. The Dedicated Fleet Supervisor position supports the growing Custom Dedicated operation by focusing on maximizing vehicle uptime and managing maintenance and repair costs for the dedicated fleet.

Requirements

• High school Diploma and Industry Management Experience
• Strong knowledge of Class 8 tractor trailer componentry, specifications for various applications, and comprehensive understanding of maintenance and repairs
• Must be able to travel up to 60% of the time
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Must be familiar with spreadsheets and basic statistics
• Understand and support the step-by-step approach to training

• Class A CDL a plus

Responsibilities

• Become familiar with the operation of each dedicated account to understand vehicle duty cycle and availability.
• Manage the maintenance operation using available tools.
• Engage with account managers regarding equipment issues and to facilitate maintenance and repairs.
• Coordinate and maintain parts/supply inventory at remote locations.
• Manage vehicle maintenance responsibilities for the dedicated fleet using vendor and in-house resources, prioritizing Pyle-owned facilities for maintenance and repairs.
• Clearly communicate coordination of repairs through regional fleet maintenance managers or shop lead personnel.
• Develop relationships with dealers and vendors to obtain premium service.
• Verify the necessity of proposed vendor work and review/approve costs.
• Perform random inspections of work performed by vendors to ensure satisfactory workmanship.
• Learn and become proficient in using fleet maintenance management software for tracking and reporting on repair and maintenance effectiveness.
• Coordinate the rental of equipment for the Dedicated operation.
• Assist with the in-servicing and out-servicing processes of equipment.
• Reconcile rental invoices for payment.
• Inspect and evaluate customer's current fleet to determine condition during the acquisition process.
