Requirements

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A CDL) with a clean driving record and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
  • A minimum of three months of professional driving experience.
  • Pass a thorough background check, drug screening, and medical examination, including Department of Transportation certification.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently while following established procedures.
  • Physical capability to assist with hand-unloading freight using rollers and equipment.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules and willingness to adapt to operational needs.
  • Professional demeanor, customer-service orientation, and commitment to safety.
  • Comfortable with digital logbooks and dispatch communication systems.

  • Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to conduct vehicle inspections independently are valuable.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a commercial vehicle transporting freight throughout a defined territory covering Shelby, North Carolina; Lexington, Kentucky; Roanoke, Virginia; Knoxville, Tennessee; and Chattanooga, Tennessee.
  • Maintain safe and legal compliance with all Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Document all trips accurately.
  • Assist with hand-unloading merchandise using rollers and equipment provided by the organization, ensuring proper product placement and inventory accuracy at delivery locations.
  • Interact professionally with warehouse personnel, retail managers, and customers, representing our client's commitment to excellent service.
  • Document all deliveries, including signatures and delivery confirmations, accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain communication with dispatch regarding location, status, and any issues encountered during the route.
  • Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately.
  • Follow established safety protocols, traffic laws, and company policies.
  • Participate in required safety training and remain current with all licensure and certification requirements.
