Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with a clean driving record and no serious violations within the past three to five years.
  • A minimum of three months of commercial driving experience.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and medical examination as required by Department of Transportation standards.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently while meeting strict delivery schedules.
  • A strong commitment to safety and compliance with all transportation regulations.
  • At least 21 years old.
  • Willingness to work a consistent weekly schedule that allows you to return home each week while maintaining flexibility.
  • Physical capability to perform duties associated with the role, including the ability to sit for extended periods, operate vehicle controls, and communicate clearly with dispatch and customers.
  • Proficiency with basic technology, including GPS navigation systems and electronic logbooks.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently while adhering to all Department of Transportation regulations and company policies.
  • Transport freight to multiple distribution points across a five-state region, including locations in Illinois, Tennessee, and Arkansas.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting any maintenance issues, and reporting them promptly to dispatch.
  • Navigate between service territories, including routes to Carbondale, Ashland City, Paris, West Memphis, and Hendersonville.
  • Arrive at distribution centers on schedule, coordinate with warehouse personnel, and participate in unloading procedures when required.
  • Maintain accurate logbooks, tracking mileage, fuel consumption, and hours of service.
  • Communicate regularly with dispatch, providing status updates and addressing any concerns that arise during your route.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor with customers, follow all traffic laws, and demonstrate defensive driving techniques consistently.
  • Keep your vehicle clean and well-maintained, report any mechanical issues immediately, and participate in required safety training and compliance programs.
