About The Position

Ibotta is seeking a Decision Scientist, Core Data & Analytics to join our high-performing team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. Our relatively new and fast-growing Core Data & Analytics team provides high-quality, on-time data products and services across all business areas within Ibotta. We do this through our thought leadership, subject matter expertise, evangelism, and governance of business-critical data initiatives. As a Decision Scientist, you’ll have the challenging and rewarding opportunity to build on the foundation of already established data and analytics products. You’ll be able to drive initiatives forward, being responsible for project completion. In addition, you'll also be able to grow organizational and leadership skills by contributing to team and company best practices while learning from technology leaders who want you to be successful. Denver, Colorado - if you are in or willing to relocate to the Denver area, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Not based in Denver? We will offer a relocation bonus to help make your move to the Mile High City a smooth one.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in an analytical function
  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Economics or related field required
  • Experience and proficiency working with: Data analysis tools (e.g., Databricks, SQL, Python/R, Spark, Hive, Airflow, Git/GitHub etc.)
  • Experience and proficiency working with: BI & other analytics tools (e.g., Looker, GA, etc.)
  • Experience and proficiency working with: Data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
  • Proficient in applied statistical analysis methods, experimental design, and hypothesis testing
  • Strong experience collecting, delivering and analyzing large, multi‐dimensional data sets
  • Excellent communication skills, including development of data summaries, visualizations and other storytelling methods
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the proven ability to collaborate across functional areas
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain business critical metrics and consumer metrics which provide a view into descriptive, diagnostic, and or predictive analytics; build curated datasets used to power these products when needed
  • Build solutions to improve our product data quality at scale
  • Work closely with your Analytics Engineering peers to provide an exhaustive list of requirements to bring new and unique curated datasets to production
  • Establish strong cross departmental relationships with stakeholders and peers to understand business problems and opportunities for improvements
  • Understand the Ibotta Data Ecosystem and how various team’s leverage Ibotta’s suite of data to answer domain specific business questions
  • Identify, validate, document, and UAT event-based data for business use across the organization
