About The Position

This role requires the ability to work on very small parts with the assistance of a microscope under various magnifications. The technician must possess exceptional hand-eye coordination and the ability to work with small deburring tools requiring very steady hands. A practical knowledge of reading drawings and specifications, as well as the ability to interpret process work instructions, is essential. The role also demands practical knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments, including calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales. The technician must be able to work within and understand extremely challenging machining tolerances and effectively communicate and problem-solve within a team environment, working well with co-workers and other departments. Maintaining a safe working environment in accordance with corporate policy and OSHA standards, as well as a clean and orderly work area, is crucial. The position involves performing other duties assigned by the Supervisor/Manager, continuously promoting and encouraging proper safety practices and best practices for standard work. The technician will work closely with design, quality, and process teams to address problems and implement improvements. They will independently, safely, and efficiently launch new deburring processes, making necessary set-ups/adjustments, and optimizations for one-off, rework, or first-run work on any deburr equipment with a high rate of success. Ensuring that all tools, equipment, parts, and fixtures are correctly handled, maintained, and managed is a key responsibility. Proactively staging material/jobs for the next one or two operations for the assigned work cell/area is also expected. The technician will have a proven track record of successfully training team members on multiple programs and deburr techniques and will champion solutions that lead to measurable improvements such as less inspection time, faster cycle time, less set-up time, less scrap, less downtime, and less rework.
