About The Position

The Dean of the School of Science and Mathematics will have progressive experience in higher education leadership, demonstrate a commitment to the liberal arts and sciences and public higher education, and provide examples of successful strategic visioning. The candidate should showcase experience in management, organizational efficiency, and program administration. Success in securing external grants, particularly for programs involving multiple constituencies or academic units, and experience working with external constituencies such as alumni, donors, and private foundations are important. The Dean will possess a strong sense of financial accountability and manage resources with discretion, integrity, and efficiency. Essential skills include the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, build relationships with a diverse range of individuals, and support students and faculty from all backgrounds. The successful candidate must hold a terminal degree in a discipline within the School or a related field, along with a record of successful teaching, scholarship, and service sufficient for eligibility for tenure and the rank of full professor.
