About The Position

This role is for the 26-27 school year at TECH Freire Charter School, a high school in north Philadelphia that is part of the Freire Schools network. Freire Schools is dedicated to preparing students from underserved communities for college and beyond, emphasizing belief in students, a strong code of conduct, a sense of family, and joyous classrooms. TECH Freire specifically infuses its college-prep program with technology and entrepreneurship education. The Dean of Students - Interventionist will strengthen the school's culture systems by managing attendance and behavior data, coordinating culture-related logistics, and supporting interventions to keep students engaged. This position works closely with the Deans of Culture and the Operations Team to ensure the school is responsive, data-informed, and student-centered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with PowerSchool and DeansList or similar student information systems.
  • Experience collecting, managing, or analyzing data to inform decisions.
  • Ability to collaborate with staff, students, and families to improve attendance and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead parent and family outreach related to attendance, student behavior, interventions, and student support planning
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for staff concerns regarding student behavior and provide timely communication on next steps, consequences, restorative responses, and intervention outcomes
  • Manage student culture cases from intake through resolution, ensuring accurate documentation, follow-through, accountability, and case closure
  • Monitor attendance, behavior, and culture data to identify trends, develop interventions, and improve student outcomes in partnership with the Head of School Culture to drive strategic decision-making and targeted student support initiatives
  • Support the implementation and use of AI-assisted culture data analysis and reporting to strengthen decision-making and operational efficiency
  • Partner with deans, school leaders, and staff to ensure consistent execution of culture systems and school-wide expectations
  • Evaluate intervention effectiveness and recommend adjustments to improve student engagement, attendance, and culture outcomes
