Unitek College is seeking a Campus Dean for its BSN Program in Fremont. This role is responsible for the overall supervision, development, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing program. The Dean will manage the RN program budget, faculty and staff, clinical site liaisons, curriculum, and ensure compliance with Board regulations. They will also act as a student advocate, develop program policies and handbooks, manage supplies and equipment, and prepare necessary reports for state and Board requirements. The position involves maintaining student and faculty records, identifying external resources, overseeing the admission process and orientation, and writing articulation agreements with other institutions. The Dean will also serve as a liaison between the community and the college, and ensure educational partnerships with clinical sites are maintained and evaluated for quality student experience. This includes assessing risks, hazards, and safety at clinical sites, and confirming adequate staffing for clinical objectives. The Dean will coordinate with clinical faculty and agency representatives regarding student numbers, faculty assignments, dates, times, rotations, and objectives, and ensure BRN clinical approval forms are submitted. They will also oversee evaluations of clinical rotations and provide summary reports. The Dean will participate in nursing faculty recruitment, hiring, and orientation, ensure regular faculty meetings are held with proper documentation, and assist in conflict resolution for faculty and students. Additionally, the Dean will initiate and maintain community relationships, advocate for and market the programs, monitor instructional quality, and participate in faculty and program reviews and strategic planning. They will maintain membership in professional associations and interact with other college departments like counseling, registration, and financial aid. The Dean will provide advising support and degree planning, ensure students are oriented to labs and clinical facilities, manage student appeals and grievances, and participate in the recruitment and admission process for qualified nursing students. Finally, the Dean will advise students, ensure graduation and licensing requirements are met, and conduct Nursing Advisory Committee meetings, focusing on student performance, NCLEX pass rates, and job placement.
