About The Position

This position is posted in compliance with Alabama Code §16-22-15. This position is intended to be filled by a transferring employee. The Dean of Business & Finance will serve as chief financial officer, and provide leadership and support in the areas of financial and auxiliary enterprises.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelors degree in accounting or a related area from a accredited institution Is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' of work experience in higher education fiscal services is required.
  • Must be bondable.
  • Proficient computer usage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for Financial, Business Office and Auxiliary Services including the bookstore.
  • Direct and coordinate the preparation of the College’s annual budget, the annual audit and the annual financial plan.
  • Create, update, and implement all policies and procedures related to the Division.
  • Assess operational results, including benchmarking operations against peers and industry standards.
  • Assess personnel performance and provide professional development opportunities to maintain relevancy and efficiency of staff.
  • Lead staff develop and monitor goals and objectives for the departments.
  • Ensure customer service and work quality expectations are defined and met, strive for best practices and innovations.
  • Plan and lead improvement initiatives in assigned areas.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional and Alabama Community College System policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with the administration regularly; serve on and provide leadership to committees as assigned.
  • Develop, monitor, and administer all budgets for the Division.
  • Assist in development and implementation of plans to secure funding from state, federal, and private sources including government and industry grants and endowments.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships and partnerships with external stakeholders to promote the College and its programs.
  • Maintain or increase competency by seeking new knowledge, improving skills, and updating professional competencies.
  • Perform all duties with professionalism.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
