About The Position

Lorain County Community College (LCCC) is seeking well-qualified candidates to apply for the position of Dean, Accreditation and Assessment of Student Learning (DAASL). LCCC has consistently ranked among the nation’s top community colleges and is among the highest performing institutions among the 22 community colleges in the state of Ohio. Located in Lorain County, Ohio- an economically, culturally, and educationally diverse community of 315,000 people, just 30 miles west of Cleveland. The DAASL serves as the Provost’s chief advisor and representative in matters related to institutional and professional accreditation, academic program innovation and effectiveness, and assessment of student learning. The DAASL has responsibility for providing oversight, innovative, collaborative and strategic leadership for the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of college initiatives, programs, and structures that support the faculty and academic programs. The DAASL directly manages the accreditation and assessment personnel. Serving as the campus Accreditation Liaison Officer (AOL), the DAASL manages all aspects of accreditation through the Higher Learning Commission. Leads the process for determining the need for new academic programs and the level of college financial, faculty, and facility resources needed to deliver them effectively. The DAASL leads campus assessment of the effectiveness of courses, academic programs, general education and co-curricular education. The DAASL ensures that the College is compliant with state and federal regulations and serves as an ex officio member or chair of college committees in the domain of curriculum and assessment, including the Student Learning Assessment Council and Curriculum Council.

Requirements

  • PhD, EdD, or other appropriate terminal degree
  • A minimum of five years of academic administrative experience
  • Exceptional leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with faculty, staff, and administrators from varied disciplines and backgrounds including collegial consensus-building
  • Experience in the development and implementation of innovative organizational and academic growth initiatives
  • Proven experience managing and leading academic assessment activities
  • Deep understanding of policies and processes associated with institutional and professional accreditation
  • Demonstrated commitment to holistic and inclusive approaches to the work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
