About The Position

Lorain County Community College (LCCC) is seeking a well-qualified candidate for the position of Dean, Accreditation and Assessment of Student Learning (DAASL). LCCC is a top-ranked community college located in Lorain County, Ohio, committed to student access, completion, and post-graduation success. The DAASL will act as the Provost's chief advisor on institutional and professional accreditation, academic program innovation, and assessment of student learning. This role involves providing leadership for planning, development, implementation, and monitoring of college initiatives and programs that support faculty and academic programs. The DAASL will directly manage accreditation and assessment personnel.

Requirements

  • Master's degree required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in higher education administration.
  • Demonstrated experience with accreditation processes, particularly with the Higher Learning Commission.
  • Proven experience in assessment of student learning and academic program review.
  • Strong leadership, management, and communication skills.
  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree preferred.
  • Experience in a community college setting.
  • Experience managing budgets and personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Provost's chief advisor and representative in matters related to institutional and professional accreditation, academic program innovation and effectiveness, and assessment of student learning.
  • Provide oversight, innovative, collaborative, and strategic leadership for the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of college initiatives, programs, and structures that support faculty and academic programs.
  • Directly manage the accreditation and assessment personnel.
  • Serve as the campus Accreditation Liaison Officer (AOL) and manage all aspects of accreditation through the Higher Learning Commission.
  • Lead the process for determining the need for new academic programs and the required college resources (financial, faculty, facility) for their effective delivery.
  • Lead campus assessment of the effectiveness of courses, academic programs, general education, and co-curricular education.
  • Ensure the College's compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Serve as an ex officio member or chair of college committees in the domain of curriculum and assessment, including the Student Learning Assessment Council and Curriculum Council.
