About The Position

The Dealership Accountant I supports dealership accounting operations at BMW of Sterling, part of Lithia & Driveway. The role helps maintain accuracy, consistency, and compliance across financial operations and works with other accountants in an on-site office environment. The position reports to the Business Manager.

Responsibilities include processing vehicle and service-related transactions, cash receipts, vendor invoices, manufacturer payments, and intercompany accounts. The role also performs reconciliations and other accounting duties as assigned.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of accounting experience, with familiarity with a chart of accounts, debits, and credits.
• Entry- to mid-level Microsoft Excel skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of automotive industry experience.
• Retail sales or customer service experience.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Submit service contracts.
• Submit warranty contracts.
• Process new-car purchases and dealer trades.
• Record used-car purchases.
• Request and process lien payoffs.
• Process cash receipts.
• Conduct regional check runs.
• Process and pay vendor invoices.
• Perform FTC reconciliation.
• Account for manufacturer monies, including parts, warranty, incentives, and miscellaneous items.
• Post to intercompany accounts.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
