About The Position

Responsible for all activities required to process Indirect loans from application through closing. Provides exceptional member service to dealers and processes loans in a timely, accurate, professional, and courteous manner.

Requirements

• A high school education or GED.
• At least one year of contract processing experience.
• Must exhibit a basic comprehension or arithmetic competency and possess basic clerical skills, including operating a PC.
• Must possess the ability to meet established productivity standards.
• Must be familiar with the auto finance industry, consumer credit, and trend analysis/analytics.
• Must possess an understanding of title/lien perfecting in the automotive industry.
• Knowledge of the credit application verification process and its related documents is required.
• Must possess knowledge and understanding of credit laws and regulations.
• Must possess basic understanding of the credit bureau, debt to income, data on credit application and verification process.
• Must possess the ability to read and understand credit applications and credit reports.
• Good oral and written communication skills, basic mathematical skills, good investigative and member service skills required.
• Accuracy and attention to details are required.
• Friendly attitude and excellent interpersonal skills with dealers and other employees are required.
• Must possess an on-going ability to keep abreast of changing department policies and procedures.
• Must display a willingness and ability to be cross trained throughout the department.
• Must maintain confidentiality and display dependability.
• Punctuality and attendance are critical to this position.
• Must possess the ability to balance and adjust to the workload daily.
• Extensive use of personal PC required.
• Must be proficient in the LOS.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, as well as use of internet and e-mail.
• Completion of CUNA’s CPD Online courses as assigned and/or required.

• Prior experience in finance/credit related industry and funding preferred.
• Bilingual helpful.
• Flexibility to work overtime, including occasional Saturdays is required.

Responsibilities

• Process Indirect loan applications. Gathers all necessary loan documents, validates accuracy, and updates LOS as needed.
• Calculates income of an applicant prior to an indirect lending contract being funded.
• Verifies employment, residence, and insurance as necessary.
• Assists Indirect Dealers with loan payoffs.
• Conducts phone interviews with members as needed.
• Communicates with dealers on missing stipulations and documents and follows up with them as necessary.
• Reviews applications for tolerance rule variances. Routes to person of proper level of authority.
• Assists in handling incoming phone traffic, in a professional and courteous manner, and routes calls appropriately.
• Utilizes Opening Act and/or Symitar to open and process new accounts.
• Communicates all funding verification problems to Indirect Funding Manager or his/her designee as soon as issues are identified.
• Accurately interprets the Fair Credit Act and the Privacy Act as they apply to credit unions.
• Responsible for compliance with all Federal regulations including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)
• Maintains knowledge of and adheres to Keesler Federal Credit Union’s internal compliance policies and procedures. Takes responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations, policies, and department procedures.
• Meets established service and production goals for the Indirect Lending Department.
• Assists in the development of new projects and/or process improvements for the Indirect Lending Department as needed.
• Assists others to complete assignments to meet goals and objectives.
• Receives mail and distributes – duties assigned on a daily rotation.
• Logs Contracts received – duties assigned on a daily rotation.
