About The Position

Sandvik Mining is looking for a Dealer Development, Parts & Services Representative, preferably located in Smyrna, GA, but also open to Denver, CO. The Business area Mining is a global leader in supplying equipment and tools, parts, service, digital solutions, and sustainability-driving technologies for the mining and construction industries, with applications including rock drilling, rock cutting, loading and hauling, tunneling, and quarrying. This role's primary function is to generate sales within the Distribution Channel through direct engagement with dealers. The candidate will develop a strong pipeline of new opportunities, strengthen relationships with dealers and end-customers, drive brand preference, and maximize sales to assigned accounts. This position requires travel throughout the defined region and will be based out of Smyrna, GA (Preferred) or Denver, CO, or on a flexible hybrid schedule.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry-related experience in a technical sales position with an OEM or dealer
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with management, technical and non-technical people
  • Polished, confident, presenter with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills required – Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, etc.
  • Must be organized, self-motivated, and an enthusiastic problem solver with ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Travel up to 50% within sales region or to Sandvik internal meetings and training courses.
  • Demonstrate the Sandvik culture both internally and externally
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States on an indefinite basis without employer sponsorship. (Please note: temporary work authorizations, including OPT, do not meet this requirement.)

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of a distribution business model
  • In-depth knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and service planning
  • Familiarity / comfortable with selling digital services and telematics solutions (SaaS)
  • Experience in developing account plans and forecasting
  • Proficient in identifying, tailoring, and executing value-based sales opportunities
  • Ideation of new products / solutions which resonate with the distribution channel

Responsibilities

  • Execute the Parts and Service action plan to grow profitable parts and service sales across all available portfolios.
  • Improve Sandvik brand and product awareness within the region through engagement with multiple stakeholders within the dealer sales channel.
  • Develop a full understanding of the business environment, market trends, and competitive actions within the assigned territory.
  • Perform gap analysis on the existing fleet, working along with Product Specialists, to identify sales opportunities.
  • Maintain fleet status and machine hours updated in the system for the assigned accounts and/or territory.
  • Establish high-level relationships with business decision makers and identify business needs and problems.
  • Consult with dealers about products for Sandvik end users.
  • Communicate effectively across product, industry, dealer and/or customer audiences to gain understanding and acceptance of ideas and recommendations.
  • Identify/Map training and development needs, work along with internal Sandvik personnel to ensure needs are met.
  • Follow up on pending parts orders and backorders with dealers and customers on a regular and scheduled basis.
  • Assist with machine down resolution.
  • Resolve challenges by offering alternative solutions, where appropriate, with the objective of increasing dealer and customer satisfaction with Sandvik and our products.
  • Record, update, maintain, and close cases and opportunities in Salesforce, documenting dealer inquiries.
  • Follow standard processes and procedures from Sandvik and other applicable policies.
