About The Position
This position is for the 1st Shift, operating from 9am to 5:30pm. The primary responsibility is to use a machine to knock cores out of castings as necessary. This involves removing castings from a belt and placing them in a knock-out machine. It is crucial to ensure that gating/sprues stay with the castings on the cooling belt and that castings are not lost or misplaced. Castings should never be thrown on the floor, and care must be taken not to damage the casting when knocking out the core. Core sand should be properly disposed of in an outside dumpster using a wheelbarrow. The work area must be kept clean and free of debris. Employees are required to properly clock in and out of the Odyssey Shop Floor Manager. When there are no cores to knock out, the employee will assist in other areas of the foundry as requested. This role also includes performing other related duties as required or requested and carrying out all duties and responsibilities in full accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Must have High School diploma or GED
- Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
- Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Responsibilities

- Keeps work are clean and free of debris
- Properly clocks in and out of Odyssey Shop Floor Manager
- When there are no cores to knock out helps in other areas of the foundry as requested
- Performs other related duties as required or requested
- Carries out all duties and responsibilities in full accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures
