About The Position

Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran (TSX:ELD) is seeking a Core Technician to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 14/14 rotation. This position is open to candidates who reside within 150 km of the McIlvenna Bay site or who can travel using our company shuttle from Saskatoon or Prince Albert. No additional travel subsidy is provided. Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran is advancing the McIlvenna Bay project, a cornerstone asset and one of the most significant copper development projects in Canada. With commercial production expected in mid-2026, this world-class deposit contains copper, zinc, gold, and silver – key metals for the global transition to green energy. The Core Technician is responsible for preparing oriented core for logging and geotechnically logging drill core to help identify and assess geological structures and rock properties. This position requires strong technical skills in geotechnical analysis, as well as experience working in a mining or exploration environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, geological technician certification considered an asset.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience OR internal progression from Core Cutter
  • Experience with data collection and attention to accuracy
  • Developing knowledge of geotechnical logging practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to field sites as required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare oriented core for logging (docking, marking reference lines, QA/QC)
  • Conduct geotechnical logging (RQD, recovery, structures, measurements, etc.) using various tools and software, including digital imaging, geotechnical logging software, and other data management systems
  • Perform metre marking, core photography, and data recording
  • Assist with sampling, including use of core saws and sample preparation
  • Accurately record geotechnical data using systems and software
  • Identify and escalate drilling or core issues to geologists
  • Maintain and inspect geotechnical tools and equipment
  • Complete drill site inspections as required
  • Support core cutters and assist with core cutting when required
  • Assist with field programs as required
  • Support general site and camp duties and geological support activities as required
