About The Position

Terros Health is seeking a Full-Time DCS Stabilization Specialist for the North and West Phoenix areas. This role assists foster care families and Qualified Residential Treatment Programs (QRTPs) to reduce crises that may jeopardize a child's placement. The position involves working 40 hours per week, with hours scheduled around school and afterschool programs, including one weekend day and evening shift. The role requires completing weekly planned interventions, attending Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings, and responding to crisis calls to support children in DCS custody at risk of disruption, along with their families and caregivers. Responsibilities include assisting with the development of individual service plans, emergency contact sheets, and at-risk crisis plans, utilizing person-centered planning, positive behavior support, and Love and Logic parenting techniques. The specialist will complete written assessments, document coordination of care, and contact placements and DCS Case Managers within specified timeframes. The role also involves fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, meeting with foster care families and group homes to build rapport, and collaborating with the Child and Family Team to develop crisis prevention plans. Additionally, the specialist will provide support, education, and recommendations to foster care families and QRTPs to help them understand crisis causes and effective approaches for maintaining a safe and healthy environment.

Requirements

  • GED/high school diploma with a minimum of 1.5 years of behavioral health experience, or an associate’s degree in the behavioral health field, or Bachelor’s degree in the field of behavioral health or Bachelor’s degree (not in the field of behavioral health) and one (1) year of behavioral health experience.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license
  • Must be 21 years of age with minimum 4 years driving experience
  • Meet requirements of Terros Health’s driving policy
  • Must have or be able to attain CPR/First Aid certification within 60 days of assuming role
  • Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or apply for an Arizona fingerprint clearance card (Level 1) within 7 working days of assuming role
  • Must pass background check, TB test and other pre-employment screening

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a PLUS

Responsibilities

  • Completing weekly planned interventions
  • Attending CFT’s as scheduled
  • Responding to crisis calls aimed to support individuals in DCS custody at risk of disruption, and support their families and caregivers
  • Assisting with developing individual service plans, emergency contact sheet and at risk crisis plans
  • Utilizing person centered planning; positive behavior support and Love and Logic parenting techniques
  • Completing a written assessment and documenting all coordination of care services
  • Contacting the placement within 24 hours and the DCS Case manager within 48 hours upon receiving a new referral
  • Actively fostering positive relationship with key stakeholders including families, DCS, RBHA, QSPs and others as evidenced by attending meetings and other events when required
  • Meeting with foster care families and GHs as necessary to develop rapport, trust and understanding of particular family dynamics
  • Working collaboratively with Child and Family Team to develop crisis prevention plans
  • Providing support, education and recommendations to foster care families and QRTPs to help them understand the possible causes of crises and what approaches would be helpful to maintain a safe and healthy environment
