DC Route Driver - MSP - $7,500 Sign-On Bonus
About The Position
Operate a Class 8 tractor-trailer as part of O’Reilly Auto Parts’ company fleet, providing safe, timely, and accurate overnight route deliveries to store locations. The position offers dedicated routes, home-daily work, a five-day work week, and no weekends. Freight is low-touch, using full-pallet deliveries, and drivers operate a modern fleet of tractors and trailers. The compensation package includes safety incentives, driver bonuses, and performance-based raises. Potential first-year earnings are stated as $96,073 based on average route hours, though actual annual earnings may vary based on route length. Drivers follow assigned routes, stops, and schedules, perform vehicle inspections, maintain Hours of Service logs, and comply with DOT and FMCSA regulations. The role requires use of electric pallet jacks and lift gates, securing loads and vehicle doors, verifying deliveries, and managing returned merchandise. Drivers may assist with various routes as operational needs require.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations, logbooks, and vehicle inspections.
- Maintain a clean MVR and valid DOT physical status.
- Pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol tests.
- Possess a current Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
- Maintain the ability to work flexible hours.
Responsibilities
- Operate a commercial Class 8 tractor-trailer to make safe, timely, and accurate route deliveries in compliance with DOT and company regulations.
- Use electric pallet jacks and lift gates to load, unload, and deliver merchandise to designated store locations.
- Follow assigned routes, stops, and schedules to complete deliveries within set timeframes.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain Hours of Service logs and comply with FMCSA regulations.
- Secure loads, vehicle doors, and alarms before and after each stop.
- Verify deliveries and manage returned merchandise.
- Assist with various delivery routes as needed to support operational requirements.
