The HR Manager – Retail Distribution Center (DC) plays a critical role as a strategic business partner to senior leadership while leading direct reports to support warehouse operations. This leader will drive initiatives focused on workforce productivity, employee engagement, and building a strong safety-first culture. The ideal candidate is bilingual (English/Spanish), analytical, people-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume retail distribution environment. This role is crucial in fostering a positive work environment and ensuring effective HR operations within our distribution center.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in HR, Safety, Distribution Center leadership in a retail distribution center or similar environment.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) required.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make recommendations.
  • Knowledge of labor legislation and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to management and employees, fostering a positive work culture.
  • Provide guidance on organizational effectiveness, talent strategies, and workforce planning.
  • Oversee employee relations, including conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
  • Develop and implement local HR strategies aligned with company objectives and retail distribution center needs.
  • Execute effectively to improve your building performance.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor your direct reports.
  • Model collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Oversee recruiting, onboarding, performance management, succession planning, and employee development programs to ensure staffing levels and capability meet operational needs.
  • Coordinate training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
  • Champion a culture of respect, recognition, and inclusion.
  • Investigate and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Drive engagement strategies that build trust and reduce turnover.
  • Facilitate communication between management and employees, addressing concerns and promoting engagement.
  • Partner with EHS and Operations leaders to ensure compliance with all safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Embed safety into daily routines and leadership messaging.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
  • Leverage data to identify workforce trends, track KPIs, and inform decision-making that enhances labor efficiency, utilization, availability, performance, retention, and productivity.
  • Lead and provide consistent support and guidance through organizational change, growth initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
