About The Position
The Child Care Cook, also referred to as a Food Specialist, is responsible for preparing food for the school’s enrolled children. The role adapts to menu changes and meets meal and snack schedules. The Food Specialist creates home-style, nutritious meal plans within the school’s menu and budget and applicable state and federal requirements; prepares meals and snacks for children and staff and distributes food to classrooms; follows the Director’s daily menu and applicable USDA, licensing, and health department regulations; maintains food and supply inventory and orders supplies as needed; and assists in classrooms as an Assistant Teacher or Floater when needed. The position offers compensation based on position, education, and experience. The posted Food Specialist pay range is $18.28–$18.99. Bi-weekly and daily pay options are available. The posting states a Monday-through-Friday work week.
