The Day Treatment Counselor will work as a part of an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive mental health support to students within a school setting. The Day Treatment Counselor develops and implements a treatment plan that enhances the student’s social, emotional and behavioral functioning in school, home and community and reflects the perspectives of the student, family and other involved supports. Day Treatment counselors conduct individual and group therapy, provide family support and case management, and offer classroom support as needed. About the Program: Racker offers programs in partnership with Tompkins Seneca Tioga (TST) BOCES and the local school districts to help young people with emotional and behavioral needs. Students in the Day Treatment program receive comprehensive mental health services that are integrated into their academic program. Our team of clinicians includes 14 social workers, 2 psychologists, a child psychiatrist, a psychiatric nurse practitioner and a medication coordinator. Our high level of staffing allows us to provide an intensive level of assessment, mental health support and skill building. We serve ages 5 – 21, from eight component school districts.
