About The Position

Cottage Hospital is seeking a Day Surgery / Infusion RN to provide patient care in its ambulatory surgery unit and outpatient infusion services. The role includes pre-operative preparation, post-operative recovery, and IV infusion therapy. The nurse works closely with anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) to deliver patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, prepare, and educate patients for surgery.
• Verify surgical consents and ensure documentation accuracy.
• Monitor patient vital signs before and after surgery.
• Start IVs and administer pre-operative medications.
• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care and monitor for complications.
• Support discharge planning and patient education.
• Administer outpatient IV therapies, including blood transfusions and medication infusions.
• Administer infusions through peripheral IVs and PICC lines.
• Perform patient assessments and document care plans.
• Educate patients on infusion treatments and self-care techniques.
• Collaborate with physicians and pharmacy staff to ensure safe medication administration.
