About The Position

The Day Support Specialist for Intercept Health’s Youth Quest serves as a positive role model for residents, demonstrating socially effective values, attitudes, and behaviors. The role contributes to the development and implementation of residents’ transitional living plans and supports their life-skills learning. Duties also include transportation, direct supervision in the community, and administrative documentation.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in a human services field, such as Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or Special Education; or a high school diploma and at least one year of experience working with children and/or families.

Responsibilities

Use interpersonal communication skills to gain residents’ cooperation and resolve conflicts while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and avoiding personal or social self-disclosure.
Transport residents, accompany them, and directly supervise them during community outings, activities, and appointments.
Guide residents in personal hygiene and proper condominium care; assist with meal preparation; teach housekeeping and laundry procedures; and review weekly chores.
Apply the behavioral system fairly, firmly, and consistently.
Supervise medication administration as appropriate.
Check that residents are in their condominiums by curfew, working, or on an approved pass; document incidents in the communication log and contact the Life Skills Coach or Program Supervisor.
Record accurate and complete resident-chart information, including behavior, critical incidents, AWOLs, restrictions, and unusual sleep patterns.
