Day Respite Caregiver
About The Position
Make a meaningful difference—right from your home. Kennedy Donovan Center (KDC) is seeking a compassionate, dedicated individual to become a Shared Living Respite Caregiver. In this unique opportunity, you will accompany an adult with developmental or intellectual disabilities and provide a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes independence, dignity, and community engagement. As a Shared Living Respite Caregiver, you will support a female individual with daily living activities while fostering a safe, stable, and enriching environment. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to build a lasting relationship and make a direct impact on someone’s quality of life. Schedule: 30 hours/week with flexibility
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship
- Ability to pass background checks (CORI/BRC, fingerprinting, etc.)
Nice To Haves
- Experience in caregiving, human services, or a related field preferred—but not required
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment
- Assist with daily living skills such as cooking, hygiene, and daily living skills
- Support medical and personal care needs (as needed)
- Facilitate community involvement, socialization, and recreational activities
- Maintain documentation and communicate regularly with the KDC care team
- Collaborate with case managers and clinical staff to support individual goals
- Support Ongoing training and 24/7 support from KDC staff
- Access to clinical and case management guidance
