About The Position

Maintains a safe, clean and orderly dorm by effectively controlling student behavior. This role involves conducting daily inspections, monitoring student activity, maintaining communication with various staff, assisting with student belongings, and ensuring the security and cleanliness of the dormitory.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
Proficient in the use of computer software such as MSWord, Excel and Outlook, etc.
Must possess a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Reading, writing and communicating fluently in English
Hearing and speaking to express ideas and/or exchange information in person or over the telephone
Seeing to read labels, posters, documents, PC screens, etc.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment
Kneeling, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching overhead
Retrieving and storing files and supplies; occasionally carrying and/or lifting light objects

Nice To Haves

Residential experience working with youth in a group home or college dormitory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Conducts and reports daily inspections of assigned dormitories for health and safety, cleanliness and maintenance issues.
Monitors student activity in assigned dormitories and ensures appropriate student behavior.
Maintains communication with students’ counselors, instructors, and with other staff.
Assists in the packing of student belongings, inventories student belongings and shipping.
May transport students to various activities and events.
Reinforces positive behaviors and holds students accountable for negative behaviors.
Maintains a log of activities taking place during the shift.
Communicates with appropriate departments any dormitory needs, incidents or emergencies.
Ensures that buildings are always secure and clean.
Orders supplies or equipment as needed.
Closing out student inventory.
