About The Position

Lifesteps is hiring multiple Program Aides in Butler, Pennsylvania, to support adults with special needs in its day program. The role involves assisting participants with crafts, community outings, and life-skills activities; observing and reporting participants’ accomplishments; and maintaining a safe, clean environment. Program Aides also transport participants in an Agency vehicle for learning, engagement, and recreational activities.

This is a part-time position scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Lifesteps is a nonprofit human services organization serving Western Pennsylvania and providing programs to help people with special needs live to their fullest potential.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current driver’s license and ability to travel using an Agency vehicle.
• Obtain and maintain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification; training is offered by Lifesteps.
• Have First Aid and CPR certification, or be able to obtain and maintain it within six months; training is offered by Lifesteps.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience working with individuals in the human services field.
• Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) Certificate.
• Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) credential.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in education, special education, sociology, social work, rehabilitation, counseling, therapy, transition programming, or another major.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
