About The Position

The Day Porter provides quality customer service to clients by maintaining the cleanliness of assigned buildings and vehicles. Duties include cleaning and disinfecting restrooms; replenishing restroom supplies; cleaning outside and garage areas; sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and performing other floor-care tasks; dusting and cleaning furniture and equipment; removing dust and cobwebs; cleaning windows, mirrors, and glass; and emptying and disposing of trash and recyclables. The employee notifies appropriate personnel when cleaning supplies or equipment are needed and performs other related duties as assigned. The position is scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work is performed in person and may involve exposure to weather, unpleasant or noxious fumes and odors, hazardous work environments, and situations with a significant chance of injury. Personal protective equipment, including eye, face, foot, hand, and head protection, is required as appropriate to the task or assignment.

Requirements

A high-school diploma or General Education Degree is preferred but not required.
At least one year of experience in janitorial or related work is preferred but not required.
A valid Ohio driver's license is preferred but not required.
Frequently or regularly walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crawl, bend, climb, use arms and hands to handle or reach for objects, tools, or controls, and push or pull.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Use personal protective equipment, including eye, face, foot, hand, and head protection, as required by the task or assignment.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Clean and disinfect restroom sinks, countertops, toilets, mirrors, floors, and other surfaces; polish fixtures and replenish restroom supplies.
Clean outside areas and garages.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors and perform other floor care as required, such as scrubbing, steam cleaning, shampooing, waxing, and polishing.
Dust, clean, and polish furniture and equipment; vacuum upholstered furniture as needed; remove dust and cobwebs from walls, doors, and window sills.
Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces and remove smudges.
Empty wastebaskets, trash receptacles, and recyclables and transport waste to the proper disposal area.
Notify appropriate personnel when cleaning supplies or equipment are needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
