About The Position
The Day Porter Lead oversees the daily operations of assigned commercial properties while leading a team of Day Porters to ensure client expectations and Katsam quality standards are consistently achieved. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coaching employees, coordinating staffing, conducting quality inspections, resolving operational issues, and maintaining exceptional property appearance.
Requirements
- 2+ years of commercial janitorial, porter, or facility services experience.
- 1+ year of supervisory or team lead experience.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Day Porters.
- Conduct daily site inspections and quality audits.
- Assign daily work priorities and adjust staffing based on operational needs.
- Serve as the first point of escalation for employees and clients.
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance.
- Train and onboard new employees.
- Maintain strong relationships with property managers and tenants.
- Lead by example by assisting with porter duties when needed.
- Ensure OSHA, PPE, and SDS compliance.
- Report staffing, equipment, and maintenance concerns to the Operations Manager.
