About The Position

LEGOLAND CA is seeking a part-time Day Park Ranger to maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and employees. This role involves observing safety and security procedures, providing excellent customer service, and completing incident reports. The Ranger will patrol various areas of the resort, respond to a wide range of calls for service, operate the Park Dispatch Center, and conduct guest and employee screenings. Additionally, the position supports the Profit Protection team in investigating theft and related issues, and may involve providing CPR, basic First Aid, and AED use. Employees are responsible for their own safety and the safety of others, following safe working procedures, and reporting any incidents.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, reasoning and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent phone, radio and person to person communication skills
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record
  • Must have current CA Guard Card or the ability to obtain one before starting
  • Must have a valid CPR/First Aid/AED certification or the ability to obtain one before starting
  • Close eye work (Small Figures), Color discrimination, Normal Color Discrimination, Depth perception, distance vision, ability to focus
  • Hearing: Alarms, phone ringing, conversation, clear acuity within 100 feet
  • Moderate - Heavy Strength Manual Dexterity/Strength (Gross Motor)
  • Moderate - Heavy Strength Manual Dexterity/Strength (Fine Motor)

  • Prior theme park experience is helpful

Responsibilities

  • Maintains access control
  • Patrols Park, Hotel, Sea Life Aquarium and all employee areas
  • Writes detailed and accurate incident/injury reports
  • Responds to calls for service including but not limited to: Disturbances, Lost children, Intoxicated/disorderly persons, Lost/stolen items, Theft, Vandalism, On-property traffic collisions, Medical incidents, Fire/panic alarms, Money escorts, Key assists, Suspicious person reports
  • Operates Park Dispatch Center (utilizing CAD operating system)
  • Surveillance of Resort utilizing CCTV system
  • Guest screening at park entrances (bag checks)
  • Employee/vendor exit screening
  • Works alongside Profit Protection team to investigate and document instances of theft, ticket scalping, or related issues
  • Provides surveillance (both in uniform and in plain clothes)
  • Provides excellent service and customer/guest relations to all MCs and Park guests
  • Responds to guest disturbances and deescalates situations
  • Provides CPR, basic First Aid, & AED use to guests and MC’s when necessary
  • Records “Near Miss” incidents and enters into reporting system
  • Assists with Facility Inspections and Safety Audits
