About The Position

Hill Brothers Transportation is looking for a Day Local Operations Coordinator/City Dispatcher to run point on the Skinner Account. This role involves managing local drivers, coordinating freight, and ensuring all loads are moved correctly. The position requires direct supervision of drivers, ownership of the customer relationship, management of trailer pools, and making real-time decisions to maintain smooth operations. The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and can perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–4 years of experience in dispatching, transportation operations, or a related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to stay organized and composed when things move fast.

Nice To Haves

• TMW or Innovative software experience a plus.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and Hours of Service requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Dispatching local drivers and maximizing their productivity.
• Processing bills of lading.
• Maintaining close communication with the customer to ensure freight expectations are met.
• Managing trailer pools across assigned locations.
• Coordinating with shop personnel on equipment needs.
• Conducting twice-daily yard checks to ensure trailer accuracy and temperature compliance.
• Monitoring driver Hours of Service to comply with FMCSR requirements.
• Coaching drivers on telematics usage.
