About The Position

Community Living Corporation (CLC) is seeking a compassionate, responsible, and energetic Day Hab Instructor to support individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence, community involvement, and overall well-being. The Day Hab Instructor provides supervision, instruction, mentoring, and person-centered support in both on-site and community settings. This position also involves transporting clients from our Mount Kisco office to our Warwick Day Program and transporting clients to and from work sites and other activities.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License
  • First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Medication Administration certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, responsible, and energetic demeanor

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support, supervision, mentoring, and instruction to Day Habilitation participants.
  • Promote client choice, independence, social development, and appropriate community participation.
  • Transport clients safely between the Mount Kisco office and Warwick Day Program, as well as to work sites and other program activities.
  • Ensure all clients are safely accompanied to and from vehicles.
  • Supervise clients at all times and maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
  • Implement person-centered and positive behavioral strategies, including Active Treatment.
  • Assist clients with daily living skills, personal hygiene, work skills, and social interactions.
  • Provide instruction and support at community-based work sites, working alongside clients and encouraging positive participation.
  • Observe, document, and report changes in clients' physical condition, behavior, or needs.
  • Provide basic medical support, First Aid/CPR, and medication administration as required and within agency guidelines.
  • Complete daily vehicle inspections, maintain vehicle logs, and ensure agency vehicles are clean and properly maintained.
  • Follow established safety, confidentiality, and agency policies.
  • Collaborate effectively with Day Hab, Residential, Health Services, and other agency departments.
  • Maintain flexibility to work at different agency locations or split shifts as needed.
