About The Position
This position is responsible for leading children's activities at a day camp, including classroom training, tutoring, sports activities, bible study, computer programs, and specialized programs. The role involves preparing and serving children's meals and snacks, assisting in leading field trips, and maintaining the cleanliness of the camp area. Duties are performed in classroom, gym, and outdoor settings, requiring the ability to meet attendance requirements and handle limited physical effort associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects. The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings with potential exposure to changing weather conditions and discomforts associated with noise, dust, and dirt.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E. D.
- Two (2) years’ experience teaching child development programs in a church or school, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Valid State Driver’s License
- C.P.R. and First Aid Certification
Responsibilities
- Leads children's activities at a day camp including classroom training, tutoring, sports activities, bible study, computer programs and specialized programs
- Prepares and serves children lunch and snacks
- Assists in leading field trips
- Maintains the cleanliness of the camp area
- Provides constant care of the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner
- Determines appropriate supplies and materials for lesson plans and recreational activities; ensures the children's safety in utilizing the same
- Prepares and serves children snacks and meals; ensures that children receive nutritional and tasteful food; provides positive, relaxed atmosphere during children mealtime encouraging conversation
- Exhibits control of the children and when needed displays proper discipline technique
- Assists in leading children on field trips; including Driving
- Ensures the accountability, security, and safety of children participating in camp activities and field trips; reports all accidents to the supervisor in an accurate and timely manner
